This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit or buy from the Urbaki Store at shop.urbaki.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have. We keep it as short and clear as we can.
1. Who is responsible for your data
URBAKI LLC, 16192 Coastal Highway, Lewes, Delaware 19958, United States, is the controller of your personal data. For any privacy question or request, write to hello@urbaki.com.
2. What data we collect
- Order and account data: your name, email address, the billing details you enter at checkout (such as your country), what you bought, the order dates and amounts, and your account login.
- Payment data: payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of the payment and limited details (for example the card type and its last 4 digits), but never your full card number.
- Messages: what you write to us by email, and our replies.
- Usage data: technical data such as your IP address, browser and device, pages visited and how you arrived at the Store. It is collected through cookies and similar technologies, as explained in our Cookie Policy.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. Our Store is intended for adults.
3. Why we use your data, and our legal basis
- To process your order and deliver your products, including download links, memberships, renewals, refunds and customer support (to perform our contract with you).
- To send emails related to your purchase: order confirmations, Club emails, and notices about updates to ebooks you bought or changes to your membership (to perform our contract with you).
- To send occasional emails about similar products, which you can unsubscribe from at any time with one click (our legitimate interest, or your consent where the law requires it).
- To keep the Store secure and prevent fraud (our legitimate interest).
- To measure and improve the Store and our advertising, using analytics and advertising cookies (your consent where the law requires it).
- To comply with legal obligations, such as keeping accounting and tax records.
4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with service providers that help us run the Store, and only for the purposes above:
- Stripe: payment processing and fraud prevention.
- Flodesk: sending emails (order-related emails, Club emails and newsletters).
- Google (Google tag / Google Analytics and Google Ads): site analytics and ad measurement.
- Our web hosting and backup providers: storing the Store and its data securely.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, for example to answer a valid request from a public authority.
5. International transfers
URBAKI LLC and several of our providers are based in the United States. If you live in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, your data is transferred to the US. These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses used by our providers.
6. How long we keep your data
- Order records: as long as required by tax and accounting law (usually up to 10 years).
- Your account: while it is active. You can ask us to delete it at any time, except for the order records we must keep by law.
- Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Support messages: up to 3 years after the conversation ends.
- Cookies: for the periods listed in our Cookie Policy.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- restrict how we use it;
- object to its use, including for marketing;
- transfer it to another service (portability).
You can also withdraw your consent at any time. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@urbaki.com. We will reply within 30 days. If you live in the EU or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents: you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion and correction, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell personal information. Sharing data with advertising platforms such as Google for ad measurement may count as “sharing” under California law. You can opt out by rejecting advertising cookies or by writing to us.
8. Security
The Store uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS certified provider. Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to run the Store.
9. Links to other websites
Our ebooks and emails link to patterns on designers’ own websites. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The current version is always on this page, with its “last updated” date. If we make important changes, we will tell customers by email.
